Working With Your Doctor

Remember that your doctor is there to help you. He or she wants to hear how you are doing. Office visits may be brief and feel rushed at times. But talking openly with your doctor is important. The more you share about how you are doing, the better able your doctor will be to help you.

How to start the talk

Be prepared! Go to your appointments with a written list of questions. Create your own list from these questions to ask your doctor.

Remember: your doctor is your partner

You both share the goal of controlling your blood pressure. Working closely with your doctor can help you feel comfortable with your treatment plan. It can also help you stay focused on reaching your blood pressure goal. Talk with your doctor about what your blood pressure goal should be and how to get there. So don’t be shy—ask him or her any questions you may have about high blood pressure (hypertension) or about AZOR.
